  • 2200mm C-119

I've seen a couple of photos and video that hint there is a new C-119 model coming. Do you guys know anything about it? Is it by a brand you carry?

Getting excited about the possibility of this model happening. I need a Boxcar in my fleet. Haha

Flew Wade Joos' C-119 last year...amazing model! Love the 119!!

Wow! Those are both beautiful Boxcars. My Dad has fond memories of flying in the back of those when he was in the USAF.

C-119 would be cool. Below are pictures of a C-119 fire tanker that a good friend gave me a ride around my hometown (East Wenatchee, WA.) back in the mid-late 70's. The airplane belonged to Hawkins&Powers. They were stopping overnight on their way from Alaska back to Wyoming. He and his dad also flew up engined and modified PB4Y's air tankers for the same company. The tall lanky kid in the photo who I went to school with now flys P2V air tankers. The one thing I remember about the 119 was how huge the flightdeck was. You could stand behind the pilots and walk around in the cockpit.

I would love an AC 119g shadow myself. I think the the 2200mm boxcars we are seeing are hand built by some guys affiliated with fn-rc (fn-rc facebook). Someone asked if they are for sale and the response was they are hand crafted. I would prefer a 119 over a 130 herc any day. Hope it does come out.

I think his definition of "hand made" is different than ours. Unless he means they molded, or CNC cut all the parts themselves. From what I gather, it is a limited production and because of the size of the kit/plane, they are not interested in shipping to the US. Too bad for us. I could see one of those in WVANG paint flying from my field.

From what I understand, FN-RC is in the business, if you want to call it a business, of creating special-order items for customers. For instance, I've seen this, a big T-34, a big C-130, an old German bipe, an S-3 Viking, and several other models that they made. It is done by CNC, not by molding. I think they have only had two (three if you count both sizes of F-104) models actually go into normal production like we are used to; the F-104 (with Freewing for the 70mm, and Sebart for the 90mm), and the A-4 through LX. I could be wrong on some of this, but this is what I've derived from reading all the threads, and from their Facebook page.

Sure would be nice if we could get some of these bigger models put into production though. I'm dying for a big foam C-130. I'd immediately convert it to an EC-130H Compass Call like the ones I used to fly on in the Air Force.

A B-58 that size would be cool too.

That has always been an iconic number from a delta look on a bomber but because the gear has such small wheels that it would be a real bear trying to takeoff from yours or my clubs turf runway :(

F-102 or F-106 would be cool. Here's a picture of my dad (back row, 6th from left) with his squadron (48thFIS) in front of one of their brand new F-102's. They didn't stay in 102's very long before upgrading to 106's.

A Constellation would be very cool as well. Here's a picture of the Connie my mom was a stewardess on.

That is so cool, I love the Constellation...there's one on static display at the Grand Canyon Airport, I would pop on a 2000mm.

If it could be scaled up so it had at least 2 1/2" wheels, it could be flown at our field.

Alot of cool "not done before" ideas here Freewing/FlightLineRC/MRC. Just sayin'.......

The B-58's gear would be difficult besides the small wheels and trucks on the mains. The nose gear main trunion moves aft on retraction which makes it look like the nose gear retracts forward.
