Someone mentioned a response from Horizon that was inadequate. Well I had one that did not make any sense, and went something like this "If you have problems with the quality of the Timber, check with the retailer you purchased it from." I purchased the plane on-line from Horizon. It goes to show that they have no idea what is going on with their business now. The quality and customer service are not what they use to be. My error in ordering from them in the first place. If Motion does not offer the product, I do not need it, period.

I don't have any red bars like you Dan but watch and see if I do soon... I'm only 7 posts away from 1000.

The best I can figure is it's a ranking based off of number of posts. I will have to dig deeper but each colored bar likely represents 1,000 posts. I've been so busy at Motion RC I have some catching up to do! :D

Yep, especially with the wierdness of posts being repeated, I'll have to check into that with the boys.

Ordered my Timber yesterday. Looking forward to some float flying. It sounds like we need to dump some glue in the firewall as part of the build.

I had this little guy hanging out with me as I flew the Timber at the pond today. He wouldn't budge. The plane didn't bother him one bit. I could buzz him, land a few feet from him, takeoff by him and he (or she) seemed happy as a clam.

Just started flying my Timber which I bought from a brick and mortar dealer, but I bought a second wing from Motion, along with servos so I could have one with slats and one without. Flew it today and found there was an issue.

Has this happened to anyone? I bought a second wing because I wanted one with slats and one without slats. I bought new dynam servos for the install and all went well although the install was tedious. But when I went to the field and flew it it was quite bouncy, and when I turned on the SAFE mode well it wanted to fly inverted!!

Got it back on the ground and did some checking. Found that the AS3X and the SAFE mode in the wing were reversed- in other words, the AS3X instead of countering a wind gust would enhance the roll and likewise the safe mode would work to increase the bank angle as opposed to reducing it!

Does anyone have any ideas? Is it because I used dynam servos? The original wing is fine and works great, just the way it is supposed to. I DID have to reverse the aileron servos before flight. Thanks in advance for any help or ideas!

You nailed it........the programming for the AS3X/SAFE was setup for non-reversed servo's.

The servos I used were standard dynams. Not reversed dynams. I bought one of those for the flap system but found out the hard way that the Timber didn't need it. I didn't use reversed servos on the ailerons, but when I got to the field I found my ailerons needed to be reversed and had to change them in the radio.

Some manufactures normal is a reverse of others normal............ie, FlightLine and FMS etracts are opposite signaled which I know of for a fact.
I suggested that was the case for the Dynams in regards to your particular setup.
Simple verification, servo test the Dynam(normal) against the Timber servo and odds are good that they operate opposite of each other.

Hi Charlie. HH technical support states that ALL 4 of the servos in the Timber wing are spectrum 330R. Note the R which means reversed. I ordered 4 today.

Just ordered my Timber yesterday; should arrive mid-week. From the description this aircraft includes SAFE technology. Does this technology include "geofencing" capabilities on this aircraft?

SAFE will return your plane to straight and level flight from any attitude when switched on. If you fly WITH it on, you will not be able to exceed certain limits on bank and pitch, in other words, no loops or rolls. SAFE does NOT include any geofencing. If you let it, it will fly away quite happily.
