Just put my 1/500 "Mighty Mo" in the water today and discovered that they wired the inboard motors in reverse to the outboard motors.. Had bring her home and flip the solder connections around on the inboard motors to get them all going in their correct direction. Beautiful ship and model, but in my opinion...is considerably overpriced and Bancroft really needs to tighten up and knuckle down on their quality control. Motion really treated me well with some price reduction in after sale support, but that doesn't excuse the manufacturer's quality control issues.

To date I have 4 of them, 1/500 Missouri, 1/200 Arizona, 1/72 Fletcher, 1\24 PT Boat, and the LCM3 and all have had quality issues with the exception of one (The LCM3)

I replaced the original scout aircraft with Kingfishers and the crew you see on board is 1/200....will be replacing these guys later with 1/500 figures I am having resin made. Also have an idle smoker on the smoke stacks when she's running. looks good with smoke coming out of the stacks. will be adding servos to turrets 1,2, and 3 later. It took approximately 12 to 13+/- Lbs. to get to ballast correctly and that's with the admiral 7000Mah 2s lithium battery and weight placed full stern and bow.

She's defiantly a looker and looks great on the water.

Good Day Gentlemen. I have been really eyeing that 1/150 scale version of the Missouri, but in the late 1980's refit. I did not know until I found this page that the 1980's version was planned for sale. I had already started collecting fittings to do my own in house conversion from the WWII to modern layout. Does anyone here have anymore info on the modern fit? Will it come to market here, and should I wait to pull the trigger?

New video just posted on You Tube of the BIG MO operating and ballasted. Ballasted weight is 30 pounds.

I'm pretty sure they are made by KY Models and sold under various names. Bancroft for one.

So the stock electronics is no good? Dai

    Hi all,

My ship has arrived. Since Covid, the prices have increased of 50-80% but at 1650 USD, I still think it is a fair deal consider of all the details. I will not run the ship until I have some positive feedbacks on the electronics. Still the old substandard or new ESC? Dai

I very much would like Alpha to comment on this concern. Dai

I can see why many would not want to cut the wood in order to get to the hatch. Very well there could be a layer of fiberglass underneath. Dai

Another example is Grand Captain, I got 2 of these and I assumed there was a hatch to get to rudders but there isn't and it is a pain-in-the-neck to reach/service servo arms.

Dai I think that eventually one would have to adjust, clean or change rudder so having an easy way to do it like small camouflaged hatch will save time and work. I got Nimitz and there is good size hatch in deck to access rudders which is perfectly camouflaged and makes easy to work, straightforward access.

Check the Scharnhorst thread I posted on how I think the rudder may actually be accessible. Can't afford the Missouri but I wouldn't be surprised if she has the same thing.
