FMS 1:24 Blazer Problems

I bought a brand new FMS 1:24 scale Blazer Crawler.
connected battery and played with the toy until the battery was dead. I charged the battery and reinstalled and the throttle and steering will not work. The receiver and the transmitter bind with each other. I can turn the headlights on and off just no Go. What am I doing wrong?
