I know this is old, but I have one of those stuarts and I'll be using an IBU 2 Pro board for everything. It handles 12 V with no problem and it will be almost exactly like wiring it into a heng long tank, with the exception of elevation. The elevation will have to be custom built since the original tank doesn't have elevation.

And in case anyone is interested, here's the Stuart I'm working with. I lucked out and found it on ebay for an excellent price. The first video is the box opening, and then a bit outdoors on a 3s lipo. Haven't done much since then, but I have set aside an IBU2pro for it, and a T6 radio from hobby king. They've changed a bit since the orange ones, but I like them and so far all of them that I've picked up (4) have been set up just the way I like them right out of the box, but I already have the cable and software. And at 30 bucks each it's pretty economical.

So what's up with your Stuart, Chris? Got any photos?

This is the T6 mentioned above. They're back in US stock, too. I usually get a couple at a time and mark them for different projects. Of the four latest, two are marked for a pair of battle tanks I'm building (IBUs in both), an Imex-Taigen all metal IR JS-2 and a Torro King Tiger (with the Imex upper hull in IR with the pre-production turret), one is running the 1/6 scale Jagdpanther (sabertooth 2x32 slaved to an IBU for sound, 15 watt amp and dual 4 inch speakers), one for the Stuart and one because I know I'll need it. Set up just right out of the box with the two pots assigned to channels 5 & 6, which is perfect for the TPA amp. Good thing I have a supply of self cantering levers. eh?

Anyway, I've dealt with hobby king for years with no problems (knock-on-wood), but your results may vary. I also picked up a couple 3s, 30C, 3,000 mah lipos that I can use both in the 1/16 battle tanks (IBU can handle 12v) and the 1/6 Stuart. If the IBU has trouble pushing the 3s in the Stuart I'll put in a sabertooth 2x25.

HobbyKing has a wide range of quality remote control transmitters. The Turnigy T6A-V2 AFHDS 2.4GHz 6Ch Transmitter with receiver is an excellent entry-level package.
