Stowage

Well still in lockdown so it was time for some stowage, tarps and deployment bags, on the m1a2. Used tissue and pva glue. Think they came out ok. Did a bit of a Google search just for some basic designs, tell us what you think.

Oh yeah painted them green for 2 reasons, 1st been they tended to disappear at distance when painted a desert colou and 2nd the photos I saw most of the stowage was od anyway, must have been pulled from war stock.

k Well I followed your advice and kept it up. LOL. Next was some barbed wire, and I am here to tell you that it works. Here is a pic of the process and another of the finished painful product.

Wow that is impressive work to fabricate barbed wire at that scale! Are you tying, twisting, and clipping each section using jeweler's pliers?!?

I was lazy with my Abrams stowage, reusing water cans from other RTRs and 3D printing road wheel hangars (incidentally the same part used to hold together the track links/cleats).

Oh gawd, basically what you do is twist 2 wires tight. Get a pair of needle nose pliers and hold the twisted wires about 25mm from the end. Tie a 3rd wire to the rest and take it over the top of the plier, twisting it around the twin wires nice and tight. Remove the pliers and put them on again on the other side of the twist.Then repeat for whatever length you want. Then I cut the top of the loops. Beware, it does work as it should and will catch, tangle or scratch what it contacts.

He builds 1/35 and was looking for stowage for his latest project and I think he just saved and printed off what he found on the internet. Didn't realise that he was printing them off so large

Made it out of different sizes of aluminum tubing and fitted it over the existing aerial mount, also left part of the old aerial for some support and flexibility

Stanley from Tank Legion has 1/16 scale Alice packs. The set comes with a Rucksack, Sleeping pad, sleeping bag and looks like an aid bag. (Under Details page two)

What Ga. Wire did you use? The scale looks to be spot on.
