How hard is it to pull the ESC and replace the Tamiya connector with something less cumbersome?

Plenty of slack on mine, enough to be able to just nip off the Tamiya connector and install your connector of choice. I'm guessing that would be a case by case issue if there is enough slack.

Pretty simple. This is a component image and as you can see from the MFCB (ESC built in) the wires to the battery are pretty straight forward. As Delizar said just clip off the Tamiya connector and solder on the connector of your choice!

Very simple and easy. The battery lead lines to the MFU have bullet type connection and you can unplug the Tamiya lines & connectors from these, then add whatever works best for you.

Thanks for the information. I do not have my tank yet and just wondering if the ESC was buried and hard to get at so I can replace the connectors. Glad to hear how easy it is for the swap.

You have to take the top deck/hull off and then the MFU and wires a super easy to access. Removing the upper deck/hull is also a simple mater of removing the four to six connecting screws (depending of tank model) which can be accessed from the bottom of the tank.
