Heng Long T-90 IR Transmitter

I purchased the T-90 from Motion RC. Tank looks great. I’ve been trying to battle with my son’s Challenger. It looks like the IR transmitter on the T-90 is not mounted on the barrel. So when I do elevation changes with the cannon I don’t think its changing anything. Does anyone have experience with the T-90 or recommendations? >

On my T-90 the IR emitters is on the barrel mantle.
If you look down the barrel from the front it is at about the 10 o'clock position. You should see a small hole with a lense in it.
If you look with a phone or tablet camera you should be able to see it light up when the cannon fires and it does move with the barrel.
