  • Need an upgrade of motor on Sherman

I just did a metal track upgrade on my Heng Long Sherman. Used MotionRC's upgrade track kit. It seems like I need to run the Sherman at full throttle now to get it go and I found it does not turn as good as it did on the plastic tracks. Do I need to upgrade the motor? If so, to what and where do I find these motors? I am using a freshly charge battery.

This is the upgrade you need. I have them in my Sherman. Puts a big smile on my face! 😃

Very easy to install. Just remember that on the Henglong tanks, on the motors, the red wire goes to the negative pole and black wire to the positive. It's easiest to de-solder the wires at the motor and just re-solder to the new motors.

          Karltrek,

I saw on Ebay where Toucan has the blue motor and also the blue motors installed on a red steel gearbox. Just wonder if that gearbox would be better then one which came with the tank. Especially, since the blue motors are mated to it and might be geared towards those motors.

That gearbox is really nice! It has bearings on all the internal shafts. It does not need grease like the stock gearbox. It is even easier to install. But it's pricy. And the performance is similar to just adding the blue motors to the stock gearbox. Either way, it will make your Sherman a lot more fun!

              Karltrek,

Thanks for the info. I think I order the gearbox sometime in July. My money is going to Flex Innovations RV8 first and the PT Boat. Then I will order the system.
