Best BBs for a Tiger 1?

I'm new to this rc tank thing. The BBs that came with the tank are horribly accurate. 3 out of 10 shots can hit a trash can at 20 feet. Way too many flyaways. Even after picking the best ones.
. Is there a better alternative?
. The tank is an upgraded metal trac, steel gearbox, and sprockets and idlers. The rest is stock.

You are shooting a round projectile out of a short, oversized smooth bore barrel with a less than consistent spring piston pushing the BB's. About the only thing that might improve the accuracy is purchasing some high quality 6mm Airsoft BB's. Then get a accurate scale and weigh each one and separate them by weight and only load similar weight BB's at a time.

just buying higher quality 6mm Airsoft BB’s should help.. I’m not sure of the weight of the stock BB’s but like any gun they all like a slightly different grain projectile. Maybe try a couple different weights and see which one works best for your particular gun.

Yes I understand the round projectile and smooth bore. Has anyone upgraded to the metal barrel and does it help with the accuracy? There seems to be two weights listed for a 6mm projectile. I'm kind of reluctant to try the heavier.
If I had a lathe and a small amount of tooling I would try making a rifled barrel to spin those BBs with a greater consistency in diameter.
I'm not looking for perfect accuracy just a more consistent shot group. Right now it's about 3 out of 10 into the side of a metal trash can at twenty feet away. With hand picked BBs the same size it should be getting better than 5 out of 10 at least.

The ones that come stock are probably .12 gram, Ive played some with airsoft and I never use anything lighter than .20s .12s are generally very cheaply made and in some cases can shatter inside a mech box and destroy it. Give .20s a try. there really isnt enough piston volume for a .25 or heavier, but you could try those too for kicks. Without completely rebuilding the mech box there really isnt any point in getting a nicer barrel for it either. The crux is because of liability, its more of a gimmick than anything else. You would basically have to completely scratch build an airsoft unit or canny one out of an actual airsoft gun to make something that was in any way tuneable. Also, airsoft BBs rely on backspin for stability, they ride the top of an overbore diameter barrel hence no rifling, the whole setup just doesnt work like a gunpowder weapon, Could see about doing something like a Top Dead Center mod on the unit to try and get some back spin since I dont think the units actually have a hopup to provide any backspin at all.
