  • My first experience with HL tanks in action

    Hi all,

Tonight my friend and I ran the T90, Leopard and Challenger together with simulated combat and this was my observation:

    1. The rear left (driver side) wheel fell off and I was not sure of how it goes back together on the T90. The right side is not symetrical so I could not do the comparision. I put it back with educated guess and so far it is working.

    2. The smoke units on both tanks failed to work (T90 and Challenger) . Yes there was fluid ( not flooded) and smoke was turned on.

    3. The machine gun sounds work at times. Sometimes they went into silent mode on the T90 !

    4. At times I could not do a left spin unless I do a right then the left will work. Quite annoying when you want to swing left at your enemy for a shot and you could not! This happened on all tanks.

    5. I like the metal wheels on the metal track sound.

    Dai

All minor tuning issues that you will in time learn to address with every new tank.

        Details, details, details......

Experiment with track tension, add Loctite to sprocket and idler hardware, add shims and bearings to gearbox, fine tune suspension, upgrade motors, ditch smoke unit, add cooling fan........

Not as exciting as a new tank, but more rewarding. Every issue has a solution, and so far no more difficult than just doing it.
