  • First baby steps of customizations ...

    Hi all,

Attempted for the first time of adding finishing touches to the Sherman. Dry brushing, washes that I do all the time on airplanes but never on armor. Also ordered some detail sets ... Dai

Those detail parts look great. Many years back we used to use artists chalks, in various earth tones, to add dirt, rust, etc to models. We would scrape the chalk with an xacto knife to produce a pile of colored powder and then apply it with a soft, dry brush. It was particularly good for adding dirt and rust since it gives a 3 dimensional effect to the weathering. If you put on too much just blow or wash it off. Once you have it as you want it, fix it in place with a spray of dulcote. It was also nice if you wanted to do heavy weathering for taking some pictures but didnt want the model always looking like it just crossed a swamp. You could weather it, take the pictures and then wash it clean.

        Hi all...

Got some orders in today. Too bad then sitting guy is a tad big in 1/16 so may have to cut him off and use as a bust. What do you think? Dai

Did you check for clearance with turret rotation? Some of your “kit” looks like you might have contact issues.

You are right. The Bulldog is an issue so I will do some corrections. The Panther G placement of the tarps is not correct either as who the hell would put the flamable stuff next to the exhausts ??? Had to move one tarp on the Bulldog to the back part of the tank. Thank you Rubicon99 ! Dai

You are an expert in tank detailing so any guidelines on where these items should go? Dai

Added a crew to the HL Bulldog. Had to get a portable saw as the figure is casted in tough soft resin that took forever with the hand saw ! Dai

Nice work, Dai! This gives me ideas for my own Bulldog.
