Has anyone had experience with these gear boxes? If so, how good are they?

It uses the 540 motor which is cheaper, bigger and more widely available than the 380/390 high rpm series. The gearbox can use the same design. At $150, it is a poor money value. I paid half of that for the excellent Heng Xin gearbox with the red 390 motor.

The 540 is a more powerful motor. If the bigger 1/16 scale RC tank can accommodate it easily, it should be a no cost upgrade. The 540 is used a lot in auto industry. The larger production scale should make it much cheaper. I hope that a 540 gearbox will come down in price a lot shortly.
