    "Metal" or Steel gearbox, how to tell the difference?

    Hiya,

    Just wondering how to tell the difference between a "Metal" (zinc alloy) or Steel gearbox...

    Magnets will not stick to Zinc gears. Simple touch the gears with one. If it sticks they are steel. If not then Zinc.
