Heng Long new 2021 tank release ....KV2

Heng Long announced the new tank being released for 2021 is a KV2.

I have to say this is a HUGE disappointment. I mean Motion what was all the “what would you like to see in a new tank” thread for when no one was listening to us!!!

The new KV2 is nothing more then their current KV1 with a new turret. And IMO the KV2 has to be the UGLIEST of all the major Russian WW2 tanks.

With all the option out there and the demand for “Cold War” era tanks the best HL could come up with is a tank that is already made by Taigen/Torro.

The KV-2 has always appealed to me in a cartoonish sort of way.
If Pixar ever makes a "Tanks" movie I'm sure the KV-2 will have a starring role.
Can't wait to get one!

If there were just going to copy-pasta a different companies tank, Id personally have prefered a plastic turreted M10 or 36. Oh well I guess.

I wouldn't really call it copying seeing as how they already make the kv-1 and, the kv-2 is just a bigger turret on a kv-1 chassis

I’ll have to agree with the majority opinion here that H-L could’ve done something really special from a clean sheet of paper, although for business reasons they clearly wanted to squeeze more money out of their KV chassis... in which case they could’ve gone with an SU-122 or 152, or a KV-85 or early JS-2.

The new KV-2 sale will be low. No newbie getting into this hobby would ever buy a KV-2, and some of us would probably skip it.

I have the KV-1, and frankly I'm planning to rebuild it into an early version without the bolt-on armour. And altho the KV-2 is "cartoon-cute", I wouldn't buy it as is.

could use the KV2 to recreate German film of a direct hit from a Tiger1 which blasted the turret high enough to go into orbit. needs to be seen to believe it.
