  • San Diego RC Tank Battle- The October War

Every October, 619th Tank Battalion hosts, The October War, Arab - Israeli themed tank battle.

With the proliferation of Tamiya Super shermans and other IDF Sherman builds in recent years we started this theme to cater exclusively to this historic genre.
Nowhere else in our hobby is an Arab Israeli themed event happened.

We invite all IDF tanks to battle against tan panzers and Russian tanks.

As with all our battle events no one is left out so any tank brought is able to take the field and play but tanks that fit the theme are encouraged.

Battle site is the National City Historic Rail Road Depot in National City CA.
    Sunday 10 October 2021

And those were only few of the IDF tanks. The Arab side had some pretty cool tank as well.

Hope you can make it down for the battle.

Because it’s been asked about what tanks are IDF and Arab armies.

IDF = M4 or M51 (any color) and any of the following in generally TAN color. Abrams, Leopard or Challenger (these represent Centurion tanks).

        Arab armies = Panzer (tan), T34, KV1/2, T72/90 (representing T62 tanks), T55 and M41(representing Jordanian M47s).

Any other non American or British tank in mostly solid green camo can join in but will automatically be placed on the Arab army side.

You are encouraged to bring at least one tank for each side if you have the ability so you can experience the battle from both sides.

This battle day is designed to leave the IDF team out numbered 2 or 3 to 1 to help simulate more historically based battles, so be ready if you are on the IDF team to bring your “A” game.

The more screws it takes to reassemble a tank, the more likely it is you left something out!

Sorry you are not going to be there. This has historically been one of the largest and best IR battles in the Western U.S. Weather looks like it will be perfect for long range fighting and high hit probabilities.

Good fights, I like the "Golan Heights" hilltop scenarios. Thanks again to Rich, the host.
