I am happy to have a new RC tank destroyer to my fleet. I purchased the resin conversion kits from Vandra to put it on the HL panzer IV. I followed the instruction on their website. I have no intention of using it for battle so the work was quite simple . It was still a little bit of time consuming. Here is my result:

Lower hull is a HL.

I drilled out the holes for the two hatches and also installed the barrel.

What's your opinion of their product? Mold and fit quality? I'm looking at their JS3 conversion for a KV chassis.

This conversion kit was a gift from a friend. It came with no instruction. I had to refit a few times to get to where I wanted. The parts are not very detailed. Some parts are better than from DAKRC but most parts are worse. The thing I am not happy is that they used too much resin on their products. I had to file and sand more than I had too. For items from DAKRC, all I needed was to use my x-acto with a ruler, cut a few times and the part came off. It was sanded slightly and then it could be glued on. For this product, many parts had no distinct edges for me to cut. I needed to go in at two angles to get it off. So for my grading.... mold: 5/10, fit quality: 4/10. Hope this helps!

From what I understand you need to coat the parts with XTC 3D to make them smooth. I am very interested in possible getting this kit myself. Just worried the HL Panzer IV lower will be unreliable.

A lot of filling, filing, and sanding. It is then acceptable enough to get primed. Next stage...paint.

I like the scheme. In Tank Battles will this qualify as a heavy?

I use the HL lower hull for this conversion. So it is running with the 6.0S HL board. With this board, it registers 6 hits no matter what. And it classifies as a tank destroyer. LegoDEI is making a "90 degree block" tank destroyer IR receiver sunshade for me to put on top.

Just a reminder, if I remember correctly, all 6.0 and 6.1(s) HL tanks with LegoDEI IR installed will have 6 hits. It does not matter how big or how small your tank is. If your tank have a 7.0 or 7.1(s) board, then it will only have 5 hits.

I finished the paint. This weekend....the wash and the dry brush.

David, looks great. I have a weathering technique I'd like to share. Take a sponge, like the dark gray type that sometimes products are cushioned in for shipping. Get some dark brown/black paint and use the sponge to dab it on the edges and wear spots. This should come before a wash. I use Vallejo's German Black brown, #70.822 but you could mix your own. It'll look like the iron/steel that paint has worn off but hasn't rusted yet. in my case since the paint is acrylic, I spray a clear coat over it before adding dirt or dust washes.

Here's a couple examples. In this case, sponging works on edges, and a wash works into the recesses.
