7.0 MFU: something unexpected… and disappointing

I noticed something with the 7.0 boards in my new Abrams and Leopard 2. I was excited by the possibility of being able to turn off the air soft capability but have found that doing so also disables barrel recoil. Is this just the way it was wired or are these functions inseparable? Anyone have any info about this?

They function as one because the barrel is physical attached to the airsoft piston. If the piston does not move neither will the barrel. Turning off the airsoft system thus turns off barrel recoil too.

It has this metal bar screwing in at the top of the bb airsoft mechanism at one end and the barrel at the other end. When the trigger pulls the airsoft mechanism part back, it pulls the barrel back too. It is nice but it not timely correct. The barrel recoils before the shot :-(

Exactly this. Turning off the silly “precoil” is actually an improvement.

To explain to someone who doesn’t have barrel recoil on a tank: the barrel recoils just before the “cannon” noise?
If so, then yeah, what is the value in such feature?

Yep. remember though, all these tanks started out as toys. It's only after we serious adults 😉 got involved that these flaws surfaced.

Thanks, all. i should not have sprung for barrel recoil. Lesson learned. Im sure many more will follow.

While we're at it, do not get the FPV option! Extreme lags and lockouts.

That is why there are three main types of your Leopard 2: Tamiya Leopard, Toro/Taigen Leopard and HL Leopard :-) We get what we paid for.
