  • Gearbox mounts

Ever since it was new my HL t34 has had a issue with the left track not feeding onto the sprocket cleanly, it would ride up on the outer edge of the sprocket before engaging properly. It was never really a problem, just annoying at slow speed. Today I looked closer and discovered the gearbox was loose. It turns out that the mounting screws have been over tensioned when assembled. What is a good fix for this problem

So the over tensioning stripped the plastic and now the screw threads cant get a grip and are loose? If that is the case, drill out the stripped holes, glue an appropriate size piece of sprue into the hole. After the glue is set drill a small pilot hole and then put it all back together. Being careful not to over tension as the factory did.

I have had them split and will take a piece of brass or aluminum tube with an ID of the screw boss, then glue tubing and place some glue in the stripped hole redrill and rescrew the mount back in.
