It would appear that many of the listed features are incorrect, seem taken from HL tanks. Most of the programmable settings do not exist for Torro tanks, though many do for HL tanks. One I was specifically interested in was the 3rd bullet re programmable radio settings. Similar inaccuracies show up for the Pz Mk IV and the two Panthers. Exacerbating the problem is at least one website - RC Motion uses these features on their website..A more accurate features list is on the Torro website though it includes in tank battery recharging which seems to no longer be the case as a Tamiya connector is provided with the charger.
According to the tank manual, the Torro's come in two versions, the IR version referred to here and a BB firing version
HL tanks have programmable options due to having function buttons on the transmitter. Only programmable feature on the Torro's is a trim button/dial for steering trim..

It’s all been pointed out many times before. No one at Motion cares to change it. 🙁🙁

MotionRC apparently uses the specs written/posted by Hobby Squawk Administrator. MotionRC did update their features to remove the in tank battery recharging feature recently. The Pz Mark III features full of errors and copied by MotionRC was posted in May 2022 by a Hobby Squawk Administrator and apparently never fixed. It seems like Heng Long features were listed for Torros but do not exist. As a relative newbie at this, it bugs me to lay out good money only to find a tank does not have features listed. Starting point appears to be the Hobby Squawk Admin who posted the specs here and assumed to be accurate by Motion RC. Live and learn so now now Torro tanks do not have these programmable features as H.L. tanks do..

It's the other way around. Motion RC posted the specs on Hobby Squawk.
Twenty six tanks, and not done yet!

DHarper If you need any specific questions answered about a tank you want to buy you can ask them in posts here. Most of us that have been in this forum more than a couple of days are aware of the inaccuracies of the Motion RC website. That being said, their prices and customer service seems to be pretty good. They just don't seem to be concerned about posting wrong info. I believe that tanks are only a small portion of their sales and therefore not a huge concern for them. I got my first RC tanks back when I was a child and had a renewed interest in them when I picked up a 1/6th scale M5 Stuart back in 2001. I've been pretty active in this hobby for about 20 years now and own 1/16 tanks from Tamiya, Trumpeter, Torro/Taigen, Hooben, Mato, Haya, and Heng Long. I've also started 3D printing some tanks and vehicles. It can be a steep learning curve, but most of us are willing to help out with information whenever we can.

Motion RC isn't the only one that is posting crap info about the tanks they carry. Tons of online resellers are posting the wrong info it's kinda up to us to do our homework, ask questions, and recognize when something doesn't look right.

Not sure if this question was asked, but is Torro compatible with Tamiya /HL IR protocol?

Normally not without adding a secondary board that lets it read the codes. At least that has been how they have worked, but could have changed with the V3 systems they now use.

The newer production has an IR converter, I haven't used it, so I can only presume the Tamiya compatibility is at best similar to HL's https://www.hobbysquawk.com/forum/rc...o-ir-converter

Right now the only things the Torro/Taigen boards do that is better is you can swap the sound card for other sound cards and you can use a hobby grade radio on the V2 and V3 versions. It is also easier (HL install requires an aftermarket relay) to install the high intensity LED unit from Taigen. Every other function is about the same as the HL except the proportional inputs/driving is better on the HL.

Yes! The new Torro tanks have the IR that are compatible with the IR Tamiya/HL protocol.
