Metal turret ring help on heng long tiger

So I got some metal turret rings for my tigers and I'm having some trouble installing them.

As can be seen by the pictures the plastic rings sit flush and the metal rings do not, looks like they are getting hung up on the bearings. Just wondering if this is normal and i need to cut some slots for the bearings or if im missing something?

I responded in a different forum, but you need to cut space for the bearings on the turret side before you can even do a test fitting.
