  • M1128 Mobil Gun System (MGS) Stryker by RC Kootai

After months of waiting...it has arrived. It's going to need some work to make it more durable as it seems to be 3D printed. The front four wheels steer. It is an 8x8 with suspension although the front suspension doesn't work quite as well as the rear. Was it worth the money...probably not, but it is the only Stryker on the market currently. All the hatches open. The top turret cover and rear cover for the battery are held on with magnets. I haven't put all the accessories on as I am going to be breaking it down to make some mods to it. It came with a HL version 7 control board and transmitter. I haven't fired it up yet as I need to get to bed...

    More info later.

Thanx for posting this. I've been looking at this since Stanlley announced it on FB. Any Metal parts? Smoker? Recoil?

When it was stated it would have a Henglong MFU, I had hope it was actually going to be a Henglong item-Sad it wasnt. I couldnt swallow the shipping fee...

Gearboxes are all metal along with the shafts. Shipping was steep. No smoke system, no IR, and no flash, but I will be adding IR and flash. Uses a standard HL v7.1 system for control.

Finally got around to adding the flash to the barrel using a standard 5mm flat front white LED, added a Vishay TSAL6200 IR LED in a space next to the barrel, and a HL version LegoDEI apple. Besides coming with a 7.1 board, it has a 7.1 controller as the trim switch on the right stick is functional. It must be a really early 7.1 transmitter and it says 7.0 on the back unlike my new 7.1 that says 7.1 on it. Being a wheeled vehicle it actually acts as a trim for the front wheels. I also fixed a cracked suspension mount with some UV resin that it had since I got it which is why I've never bothered to install the battle system. A battle system doesn't do any good in a vehicle with a broken suspension mount. I finally took it out to our local battle day this past Saturday. I've been bad mouthing this thing for so long sitting on my shelf at home and surprisingly it worked great. Nothing broke and it zipped all over the battlefield. Still can't recommend anyone buying it from Hooben as they are now the ones reselling it from Kootai RC. I still think it's way over priced for what you get because the material it's printed from is brittle and heat sensitive. There is a section of lower hull under the rear side skirt that is warped, but luckily you have to know it's there to see it.
