  • RAL paint chart equivalents?

Found this while searching for the Tiger projects. Trying to get close to the brown on this Tiger. Any opinions? https://www.cybermodeler.com/color/ral840r_table.shtml

The following article goes into great depth regarding German color and camouflage schemes. Of particular interest is 1) when the colors and patterns were ordained, 2) how they applied; thinners, brushes, rags, sprayers, and 3) a comment about museums relying on modelers for paint selections. 761, I'm guessing that brown you mention was actually dunkelgelb, with the artist trying to add a little patina!

History of the camouflage of German armor from 1927 to 1945.

Also, as anyone who has owned a red or yellow vehicle, the colors don't stay the same for long..
Twenty six tanks, and not done yet!

Thanks SoCal. Part of the fun in this hobby is the research. You might be on to something with the artist's rendering. The pattern looks easy enough. As soon as our weather improves I will be testing the colors. Great job on the Ram!
