  • Metal Tracks effect on motors

    Hi all
I am thinking of getting some metal Tracks for my jagdpanther. I have metal drive and idler wheels fitted. Do metal tracks wear down the motors due to their weight?

    Thanks

Depends on the terrain type you are driving on and your voltage going to the motors. Expect the metal tracks to slightly “bog” down the turning performance and use battery power up faster. But they will not “wear” down the motor in the short term.

With metal tracks and stock motors I usually run a 9.6v battery and this compensation quite well for the extra drag placed on the motors. Now motors do have a usable life span and at some point you will have to replace them but it is easy and cheap to do.
