Regardless of how thin decals are, I always try to cut them as close to the detail as possible just in case. A decal softener like Mark Fit or Micro Sol might also help in the future.

Yeah, unfortunately Peddinghaus, which has a large selection, has a unique film, similar to "do it yourself" decals. I sprayed a gloss clear, used MicroSet and MicroSol on their decals and sprayed over with clear flat. The film is still visible, but not too much. Also, they do not outline the decals. You have to cut all of them from a single sheet. Okay for stars or crosses, not so much for serial numbers and letters. They'll never win a scalemasters competition.

The more screws it takes to reassemble a tank, the more likely it is you left something out!

I bought Peddinghaus decals for me M26 and was unimpressed with how thick they were. I have seen youtube videos where the really good builders bad mouth them for being too thick. I think the decals look great but you can see the outline no matter how much you try and touch them up. I am talking about the text decals not the national insignias. I almost bought the 1/16 stencil kit from DN Models. At $50 it is pricey but you can reuse them. Text are not included just numbers and crosses etc that are large.

Believe it or not, I used multiple coats of Mark fit and gloss coat. I definitely should have trimmed then closer.

I see you primed it first but did you remove the original paint before priming?

Sorry for all the questions but I warned you.

PS Oh and I vote for dirt/mud. All my tanks are girls and I Love dirty girls.
I sponge chip it with AK’s chipping color, then hand brush chips with a lighter base color. The extinguisher decals came with the set. I just primed over the original paint job with a Tamiya rattle can. The oxide red, gray and black really lay down nice.

I guess the last time I used Peddinghaus decals, I photocopied the sheet into my computer, cut out the ones I wanted, and then used them as a painting stencil. Of course that doesn't work with really small, intricate decals. I think this method only works with bigger markings.

Dull coat done, lightly weathered, still a few minor touches and I’ll call it done. Stuffed her in my lightbox for a couple photos. After a little bit of driving around I decided to order the Mato metal tracks, sprocket and idler.

Which paint are you using for the dull coat?

Looks fantastic! I like how the mg-34, mount and ammo box you ordered look.

What pin wash did you use? Premix or your own?

Thanks, I’ve been using Lucky Varnish with good success.

They give you 2 ammo boxes with the gun. I’m going to use the open box with the ammo belt. I just have to finish painting it. The wash is just Migs.

Finished my Heng long tank commander.I struggle with figures.I received a new TC from Ali Express, but his binoculars were broke and the little piece wasn’t in the bag, I’m thinking it was broke b4 packaging. Oh well, I can’t find 1/16 binoculars anywhere, maybe make it look like he has his intercom switch in his hand.
