I noticed that first thing when I got my HL M14A3. What I dd to correct this issue was to relocate one of the handles closer to the spring loaded pivot. Now if you're not familiar to drilling holes in plastic, run your drill on the slowest speed and let the drill bit do the cutting into the plastic - don't push hard and clean cut shavings off the bit frequently. You'll have to glue the new handle in place.

Here are a few other upgrades I made to my HL M14A3. Since they installed the Infrared Emitter in the machine gun port to the left the cannon barrel and there was no working MG, I installed a cool looking flashing machine gun to the right side of the cannon barrel. And I've now got four working headlamps. Turned the original HL to a 'Aiming Light".

I see what you mean about the DPs. I'm looking at the possibility of modifying the HL's DPs by removing them, sanding the backside down to the correct angle of mounting and then glue them back on. Got nothing but time on my side since I'm retired.Originally posted by tank_me View PostOne of the big things people do is fix the wonky position of the driver's periscopes. They aren't supposed to be pasted on the outside of the tank at a 30 degree angle. The hoods are supposed to be parallel to the ground. I can post of pic of mine when I get home from work. Derek
P.S. It will also make opening the hatch much easier to access the on/off switch. 👍
