  • Torro Wood Box Dimensions

Could someone who has a Torro tank that came in one of their wood boxes give me the overall dimensions and the thickness of the wood slats please.
I want to make similar type travel boxes for my small livery.

    Thanks in advance!

If memory serves me correctly Torro doesn't incude the wooden box when serving the U.S. but I remember reading something about this awhile back on some board... Ahh yes here's the topic over on RCU-https://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-...ood-crate.html

Maybe if you get in touch with Taigen they can help you with dimensions if no one else here can help. But as per the link discussion I kind of agree a tool box like what David N shows here would do well- https://www.hobbysquawk.com/forum/rc...ge5#post373039

But I get it of course the wooden ammo crate would look cool.

Best luck I hope someone can help you.

      Thickness 1/2"
FYI: The "slats" are fake. It's one piece of wood with grooves cut in, probably with a router & 1/8" bit.

      Mr. Chef, Incorrect.

Very cool thanks for correcting me. I just remembered reading about that years ago before I even got started in the hobby.

Curious is it standard 1 size box with different foam inserts for different tanks? Or are there different sized crates for different tanks the way Heng Long has different boxes?

What’s the quality like? Is it flimsy as previously stated?

I've got at least 2 different sizes (from Motion RC orders). Pz 4 smaller than KT 2. boxes seem pretty sturdy to me. wouldn't stand or sit on them.

DavidN found cheap plastic tool boxes that would be more useful for transport to battle events. the wooden boxes are heavy and bulky. MotionRC sent them with the infrared Torro tanks I ordered from them. IMEX didn't send them with the airsoft models or infrared regardless (I think) of Taigen or Torro. think they're essentially the same company, Taigen/Torro.

Its pretty sturdy actually. I only have 1 Torro so I cant comment on if they make diffeent sizes for different tanks. From a production standpoint, I bet its just 1 size with different inserts like you suggest. The Torro was bought right here at Motion, a US seller of course. Nice crate IMO.

Yes, Torro & Taigen are basically the same manufacture...My very 1st tank, a Taigen, did not come with any special packaging. A card board box just like a Henglong. The Torro as stated above from Motion, came in the wooden crate.

I have only two boxes: One for the Panther and one for the Tiger I. They are not the same in sizes. The Tiger box is taller in height, shorter in width, and longer in depth than the Panther.
My panther box is only 27 3/8 in width compared to the Jagdtiger 31 3/8 in the earlier post by Zippersnapper.
