JS-2 machine guns

My JS-2 has a flashing white LED on the mantlet flashing In conjunction with the front (and rear) mg. Is this correct or is the flashing mantlet led for IR purposes? Motherboard is a TK50s.

That sounds like it was a custom wiring job. IR can't be seen by the naked eye so if you are seeing it flashing, it's not IR. You could see the IR if you use the camera on your smartphone and it will show up purple. Besides, the IR LED pulses on for a few seconds and turns off. It doesn't flash.
