Just saw a post on their FB page with a short video from Dan saying the museum had started making arrangements to return it's artifacts (tanks, equipment, etc) to their owners and back to the government for the ones owned by them. It looks like they took the post down now. They were probably getting bombarded with comments. When I went to read them, the post was shown by FB as deleted or not shared with me. This place holds the big tank battlefield on the east coast. There were no comments as to the fate of the battlefield.

When I started with the 1:16 RC tank hobby in 2004, the battle field in Danville is the only one I heard about. I never had a chance to visit the Museum, just read their battle post eagerly. The museum store is an excellent source of hard to find RC tank parts at very good price.
Anybody has insight of their closure? I thought that the AAF (American Armoured Foundation, Inc.) is fairly well endowed. Is the lack of operating fund, lack of volunteers or lack of visitors the main reason?Comment

Usually it’s a lack of funding that causes a museum to close. Could also be a property lease or payment issue as well. You never really know unless they state it.RC tank parts and accessories I make

Massive loss to the hobby. I run all 9 of my Tamiyas (3 purchased from AAF) hard and they are always my go to for the getting ever rarer parts I need. Plus their battlefield itself which probably pushed a lot of aftermarket improvementsComment
