  • New upgrade parts for TD M60 series

I have a bunch of parts to upgrade the M60 series now and will be listing the newest stuff on my site in the next day or two.

First up is the spot light kit.$20 Add that missing detail that was so distinctive.

Next are the Scale gun barrels. Dump that ugly inaccurate gun barrel TD provides in the tank.
The profile shaped M68 105mm barrel for the M60a1 and the heat sheilded M68a1 105mm barrel for the M60a3
With a brass tube in the center $45 each

Since several of us have determined that the metal edition M60s run better with plastic track and due to the difficulty of getting plastic track from TD right now I have secured a small cache of both types of plastic track to stock for customers. Hexagonal pad for the M60a1 or Chevron pad for the M60a3 With spare links. $45 each pair.
Remember an M60a1 has a profile barrel and did not have smoke grenade launchers installed.

What is a good way to make these plastic tracks look more flat and less like plastic? The question is for every TD M60 users.

Paint the end connectors and metal insides of the links with a rusty color and then drive them on some pavment to scuff the face of the pad and then drive them in the dirt.

What Rich said above. I would add that the two types of tracks need slightly different paint and weathering.

The chevron type pads are completely rubber and should not be painted, only the end links and center guides should be painted.

The hexagon type only the hexagon is rubber the rest of the pad and track components are metal. As such this type of track would develop surface rust rather quickly. So paint everything except the hexagon pad. If you get paint on the pad just drive the tank outdoors for a few minutes and it will wear off the pad.

I have both types of pads that were painted rust and driven. The tracks actually hold the paint rather well and I have had little wear off. As the dust and dirt build up from use the tracks will "dull" out and take on a field use look.

Here are both types on my tanks:

Just ordered 3 sets of tracks. Better have them and not need them vs needing them and not having them especially with the way I tend to beat tracks up.

I now offer a drop in ready servo recoil with scale gun barrel kit for the TD M60A1/A3 tank. It includes gun barrel if your choice, M60a1 profile or M60a3 heat shielded, the recoil unit and the servo. Installation is made easy as all the measuring and alignment is pre set up for you all you need to do is a slight modification to your tank that my video will walk you through.
The drop in replacement kit retails for $90
Note this is not applicable for the IDF M60.

I also offer a pair of ball bearings for the main gun pivots if your tank did not have them included as seen in the photo below.
Both of my tanks were missing these pivot bushings and without them the gun slops side to side and can fall off the elevation unit arm when you hit a hard bump. My pair of ball bearings takes the place of the nylon bushings if you have them or if you don’t, and creates a nice firm installation $8 a pair.

I have one of the A3 barrels it is a beautiful piece of art and durability. It going into my M60A3 to IDF 6B "Blazer" conversion I am working on. Really changes the look and feel of the M60A3 to something of much higher quality. It's such a simple thing but makes the world of different changing the TD M60 from the "toy look" to an actual quality model look .

I highly recommend the ball bearings for the main gun pivots. When I worked on the gun recoil upgrade, the nylon bushings will not stay in place when I re-assemble the torrent. (I had to search all over my workbench and the ground underneath for the bushings.) I used a pair of uxcell MR74-2RS Deep Groove Ball Bearings 4mm Inner Dia 7mm OD 2.5mm Bore Double Sealed Chrome Steel to replace the nylon bushing. The standard bearings are good friction fit to the gun pivots and the torrent bushing channels. They stay in place when I re-assemble the torrent, making the job much easier.

The bearings did very little improvement to the gun elevation functionality. It is a very limited 30° range of movement. The US M60 does not have shell autoloader, thus, not tilting after recoil.

I kinda doubt you fit 7x11x3 bearings in there and probably mixed up the size you used.
4x7x2.5 fit perfect and snug and larger ones would not fit into my tank pivot mounts.

You are right. I have both size bearings for the torsion arms upgrade. I added the pivot bearing thing a while ago and had the size messing up in my post. Thank you for the correction. I updated my original post with the correct bearings that I used.

In earlier post, I mentioned that I need 3 hands (try to be funny) to assemble the TD torrent. With the bearing replacing the nylon bushing, I can do it with 2 hands. I still like the interlock system on earlier Heng Long the best.

I bought the spot light. The detail on it is awesome. The tank looks better with it on.

The light really does make it look a whole lot better. Even more so if you add one of the two correctly profiled M68 barrels Rich has available.

On my upcoming Magach 6B conversion I used the M68A3 barrel that is absolutely beautiful and even has rifling.

I've got a couple of spotlights on the way and a barrel for some future projects... :) Luckily I was able to repair the spotlight that broke on my M60A2.

Yesterday, I had about 2 hours to spare. So I decided to install the barrel I got from Rich and convert my M60A3 to IR battle. Quite simple; I took out the Tongde board, the barrel and the air soft unit. The barrel was quite tight. I used my hammer to tap it out of the mantlet. The rest was just pins plugging. I primed, painted and coated the barrel. I followed Bob's footstep on the location for the IR receiver. My M60 now has a cool looking and recoiled barrel. It is ready to battle this Sunday. Many thanks Rich for such nice and quality products.

It is amazing how much nicer the TD M60s look with just a few upgraded detail parts and a good paint job.
