Battle System for early Heng Long tanks

Hi all,

I have 2 old Heng Long tanks that did not come with the IR battle system installed. I'll post a picture below, but I believe it has the TK18 board.



Where can I find parts to install the IR battle system, and are they compatible with the newer battle systems? I'm located in Canada so its a bit harder to get parts since not everywhere ships here.

Go to toucan and buy 7.1 systems with radios. Then buy a Legodei ir receiver
throw away the boards in your tanks.

I guess I would ask, what is your goal of battling? If it is to IR battle between your two tanks and no others, you can simply wire up the old style HL apple/IR LED. If your goal is to battle with others and or a local club, then you are going to have to replace the RX-18 as Rich stated. I will say that the newer 6.x/7.x multi-function boards are far superior to the old RX-18 in reliability and function. BUT (there's always a "but"), the conversion will require re-wiring basically the whole tank.
