  • San Diego RC Tank Battle March 24th

Hopefully the rains will stay away for at least a few days prior to this event.
Sunday March 24th 9am we will take the field for an IR Tank battle day.
Location Mission bay park South Shores Boat launch. A large vacant field adjacent to the boat ram and restrooms.
Parking fills up mid morning so arrive early so you dont have to park at the end of the parking lot and walk back.

Bring your tables and chairs and a popup canopy and join the club for a battle like no other in the southwest of the United States.
Our field is huge, we have unlimited space and do not set boundaries. You can flank the enemy as far as you want to drive and reengage.
We also have an area of hills and ravines that was built by RC car people or mountain bikers or something and it is very fun to drive around on. We call it Tankland by the Bay.

Some come on out and join the battle.

We are having an all tank theme this month to get started back up after the rainy season because Im sure people have specific tanks they have just finished that they want to battle with and try out.

There is also a SCRCTC tank event in Huntington Beach that day.
Twenty six tanks, and not done yet!

Well, that's too bad I guess. There are only so many weekends in a month and Easter takes one of them.

The two events are different and offer different experiences so people will have to choose where to go play that day.

Wow, that reads sorta harsh. I thought you were trying to coordinate with SCRCTC.

The Hunting Beach / Socal group typically hosted the last weekend of the month I thought.
I thought I was avoiding interference.
There are only so many weekend days, I have family obligations and schedule battles around my family plans, also assuming it was not on the Hunting Beach/ Socal schedule.

When you notified us here that it was a schedule conflict Rubicon texted me about it and I quickly looked at the calendar to see if I could rearrange the San Diego battle and republish it to the following Sunday only to realize that was Easter, so, obviously not an option.

I am left with cancel the San Diego event entirely for the month of March or host it any way and people can choose which to attend.

I decided to hold my schedule and host it any way. If I am the only one that shows up to play, I can still have fun with my tanks for a few hours.

I've decided to cancel the San Diego battle.
I have a few confirmations already of attendees and a few maybes and a few that like attending the SoCal club events in hunting beach as well, so rather than have a small meet here or detract from the SoCal event I am canceling the March battle day.

So sorry that you were misinformed about the SoCal RC Tank's event. We don't host the last weekend of the month. We host the 4th weekend of the month.
