Tiger fixed runs great! but?

Tiger rear idle was replaced by one from ebay and it runs great, but do you guys know what these two black switches do on top of this blue box?
I'm guessing maybe something to do with smoke as I yet to see any??

That blue box is the Taigen battle system that makes it compatible with Tamiya's protocol.
