Pairing Torro t34 tank transmitter and receiver

Hi I bought the 1/16 Torro chassis and built largely hand made tank. I bought the 2.4ghz transmitter and receiver to control it. I can get power to the drive wheels but can’t pair the two. Do I need an esc to do so. I’m running no other electrics than the wheels any help will be great

Please, show us a picture of "the 2.4ghz transmitter and receiver". If not obvious from the picture, tell us what brand it is.

If you get the Taigen/Torro radio system, just follow the instructions that comes with it. The motherboard includes the ESC. However, if you only get the sound card and speaker, you need the complete system.
