Hi,

I do not understand why HL does not put out a computer radio with say 20 model memories so we can use ONE TX for all the tanks??? Just like the planes counterpart? Financial decision? Dai

I use one HL TX for multiple tanks quite often. Just bind them all to the same transmitter.
You can only run them one at a time however, for best results.
You could try running several together and they might look like dance team or something. 😁

I use the same transmitter on multiple tanks also, but I've never experimented with where the setting changes are stored IE: in the radio or the MFU? I tend to turn off neutral turns (superspin) and dial down the hull recoil when firing. It only takes a couple of seconds to bind a transmitter to a tank.

Ditto the above responses. I own 20+ HL tanks. I run all of them from one transmitter, unless I want two running at the same time. As per TM's post, it takes seconds to bind a tank to a transmitter. As far as range goes, the HL's we run on our San Diego battlefield are good for at least 100 yards, maybe more.

That is good to hear. I did not know you can bind 20 tanks to one TX. I have one tank with 7.0 version so I guess that will not work with 6.0 TX. I wander if the 7.0 TX can bind the 6.0 tanks? Dai

No, the TK-7.0 TX cannot bind with the TK-6.0/6.0S MFU. the TK-7.0 TX can bind with both TK-7.0 and TK-7.1 MFU receivers.

I have 15 tanks so I will bind 7 with one TX and the other 7 with another. The one with 7.0 MFU I will leave alone with its dedicated 7.0 TX. That way when friends come over we can do IR with each other. Dai

I wish HL would put out a high quality computer radio so we can see what tanks we are selecting like the airplane counterparts. Their tanks are improving in quality but still the same toyish cheaply plastic TX ! Dai

You can also bind your TD tanks to the same TX. But can't bind them to a HL TX.

All of the individual tank settings are stored in the tanks MFU. So each tank can be "tuned" differently and will maintain that "tune" regardless of TX it is bound to.

That's good to know. I was using Clark's for all my tanks, but since a lot of the guys in our club battle HL tanks, I've just been putting 7.1 boards in most of builds lately. I use servo elevation and servo recoil so the 7.1 works for me. I actually bought a 7.1 radio not realizing my RC Kootai M1128 MGS came with one. Oh well, I guess I have a spare.

To digress from the main topic a bit. What protocol is your club using to interface the HL tanks with non HL tanks? Out here the three SoCal clubs use the 6 second between shoots, 6 hits and running of low power mode as a general rule for HL tanks. This roughly equates to all the HL tanks being "medium" tanks under the Tamiya classes. Some flexibility of course is used for theme / specialty battles.

We also have work out a way to align older Tamiya tanks to fight on a relatively even par with HL tanks, aka not slowing down for damage. It's actually quite simple and effective. Makes the older Tamiya tanks more competitive. PM me or RichJohnson if you would like the details.

As far as I've been able to tell, the settings are stored in the MCU, not the transmitter, I use one radio for all of my tanks, I don't seem to need to fine tune anything between the models

one possible caveat is the actual differences in the radios, the stick potentiometers don't seem to be consist between radios for instance

Since the club lost it's battlefield last year the rules have been pretty loose as they've been trying to rebuild a base of tankers again. Most have switched over to using the LegoDEI apples at least on the HL tanks which as you know helps even the playing field a lot.
