After playing around with this howitzer, I have decided to take its 3.0 board out and installed it into my Tongde M60 for IR battle purpose. The Tongde M60 is now battling just like the HL. I took the 2.0 board from the M60 and installed it into the M109A2 for playing it with the bb airsoft. There was no need to switch the transmitter. The Tongde transmitter works on both 2.0 and 3.0. I enjoyed very much playing with this howitzer in my backyard. It shot very high. I have some extra accessories from the Bradley. So I added them onto this one. I used all the decals that were in the box. It is Egyptian.

Yes! They are quite weak.

The Tongde torsion bar being too weak for the all metal version is pretty well documented. 2 remedy were proposed to reduce the total weight of the RC tank:

1. Replace the metal track with the plastic track.
2. Use plastic road wheels with ball bearing.

Personally, I like the TD metal track much better than the plastic track so I prefer the plastic road wheel solution. It works very well on my M60A1.

Road wheels do not factor into weight on the tortion bars as they are un sprung weight. They factor into traction and aversion as they do exert weight on the track but not in the suspension of the tank. Metal wheels likely won’t make a difference in how it feels driving with metal tracks.

The RC tank suspension, torsion bar or coil spring, does not work that way.

The weight of the wheels does not effect the weight of the tank on the suspension because they are below the suspension.
The weight of the wheels will only effect weight on the ground. The factor they will effect is ground pressure and therefore traction and turning and climbing ability.

I just added metal road wheels to the Heng Long German Leopard 2A6 with no change to other components. I have to adjust the suspension coil spring to lift the Leo to its original plastic wheel height level. I use the Tamiya hybrid tracks. Road wheels, sprocket and idler wheel are Mato.

I also added metal road wheels to the Heng Long Russian T-34/85. I removed 17 ounces of the dry weights to the T-34 after installing the metal wheels. It restores the balance and lift the tank to original height.

We must remember that weight is a scalar quantity and does not act as forces.

I am just talking about basic terms in physics. Weight is a static term in mechanics, not dynamic. The qualifier for "weight" is beyond my comprehension.
