Torro/Taigen Tiger I MFU swap to Heng Long TK 7.0

So with help from Meter rat and others on RCTW I had done a conversion using the TK 7.0 to control the Torro/Taigen Asitam mechanical barrel recoil and elevation.

I had picked up this Torro Tiger I back in June as an open box from MotionRC for $329. With more help here I solved the open box issue. But I've always hated the Taigen V3 MFU controls. I've been planning this conversion since the summer and just got sometime now to do it.

So after rewiring the recoil elevation unit the only thing that needs some work is to change the motor plugs that Taigen uses to the Bullet plugs that Heng Long Uses. That and know that Taigen and Heng Long have reversed polarity for the motors which is why you may see the plugs positive to negative. The rest is all Heng Long plug and play using their TK 7.0 upgrade kit available from ToucanRC on sale now for $79 in the US warehouses.

Anyway that's one project I've been up to.

Hey Chef. It's been a while. I have a question about a Torro upper Hull, to a HL chassis. I also bought another HL. Now the plan is to mate the Torro upper to the HL lower. Reason is, I want to mate the HL upper to a T34/85 lower to make the "Kellys heroes" tiger tank. Here are two Pics of the Torro upper and the electronics it came with. I only have one wire coming from the torro turret. Is there an adaptor I need to make this happen?

Hey Chris long time. I hope all is well. I don't have experience doing what you're asking yet with the BB version you're showing but will in a couple of weeks when a similar turret will be delivered to me. What I can share is the wires coming from the turret should be going to the daughter board block near the turret rotation motor and then down to the lower hull to connect to the board. If you have patience Ill investigate and share when the turret arrives. Sorry I couldn't help more as I've only used/modded the IR version and not the Airsoft version.

All is ok. I went ahead and just swapped all my HL electronics to the Torro hull and turret. I, now have a Franken tank, but it looks much better than the stock HL. All I have to do now is wait for the Lights to arrive, then the painting begins. As for the HL deck and tiurret, that's going to be narrowed and mated to my T-34 chassis.
