I brought this tank from a friend a year ago. I have just finished working on it to have it IR battle ready. Then I noticed the two wings. Does anyone know the purpose of the 2 wings on the both sides of the turret is for? Thank you!

A bit of searching revealed that it is spaced armor that hinge outward so the maintenance crew can access the engine when the turret is turned 90 degrees. I've also read that there's limited storage behind the panels..
