    Thoughts from the UK.

Just been watching the fires in America. I hope those of you, who may be affected stay safe.

Fires and earthquakes are somethings we in Ca. have to accept living here, that it can and does happen.

This was about four miles from my house just a few years ago. The smoke clouds reached over 25,000ft high. This is an entire mountain range on fire started by a family with illegal fireworks. The photo does not even come close to showing the scale of what it looked like in real life. An even larger fire happened late in 2024 that destroyed a huge area of another nearby popular mountain recreational area to include areas of outlying cities that boarded it.

I was wondering if the fires were getting close. Fingers crossed!

Speaking of weather Meter Rat, I see the UK is getting some extremes too.
The more screws it takes to reassemble a tank, the more likely it is you left something out!

We may be seeing ice here in the Austin area which is pretty rare for us. Just means there will be tons of car accidents as Texans don't know how to drive on snow/ice. Been watching those fires in Cali as I work for Veteran's Affairs. Some of our clinics and hospitals have been affected.

        Stay safe everyone.

I feel for those who have been flooded out in the UK. These properties can be dried out. Unlike those who have lost everything, due to the fires, regardless of their status.

Britain does have the ability to grind to a halt at the hint of snow.
