Based on @quitcherbitchen and what I saw, some chinese retailer already stopped selling to US. The shipment suspension is by default.Originally posted by SoCalBobS View PostDHL and Fedex have stated they're suspending shipments to USA. Didn't say when.

My wife just ordered a bunch of stuff off Aliexpress yesterday and our order shows as shipped. We did pay extra for air freight but no tariffs yet. The tariff is supposed to be collected on our end by customs or USPS prior to delivery and paid by the recipient not the shipper.
Those that are not shipping are taking instructions directly from the communist Chinese leadership just to cause problems and discomfort to the average US buyer. So if your package is not shipped don't blame the US blame the communist for directly holding power over you.
Trust me the majority of the Chinese companies want to ship your orders but know better then to go against the communist party.

I had to redo my order and "find similar" to get what I wanted off Aliexpress. Granted the vendors may be intimidated by the tariff and just decide forget it. It was all over the map as to who decided not to ship and who did. I ordered servos and speakers with no issue, but the wire connector companies/electronics were hit and miss. Hope it makes it.Don't just fly--WREAK HAVOC!!!

No, it is NOT a Chinese government ban which will be instant and total ban. There is no check and balance like in the US. For now, the ship to US and no ship to US are all over the places, even from the same Chinese company.Originally posted by Rubicon99 View PostMy wife just ordered a bunch of stuff off Aliexpress yesterday and our order shows as shipped. Some of the Chinese company are smart enough to figure out that their customer would not like to fill out a form and pay an additional 145% US tax to get the item. The customer may try to get a refund without returning the item and get very angry at the seller when they can't. AliExpress is no help. Not selling for now after Trump's liberty day is a smart business move to preserve customer good will for the longer run. nothing to do with politics. It is only the first 3 months, many economist predict much worst time than the 2008 recession in 2025 summer.

I am sorry you are so blinded to the actual truth of what is happening with shipping. You are exactly what the Communist Chinese expected from Americans... to do their work for them. Why negotiations in fairness with the US when we can simply pressure the weak minded, spoiled American people to pressure change for us.Originally posted by keilau View PostNo, it is NOT a Chinese government ban which will be instant and total ban. The authoritative regime in China is one of problem that the Chinese people face. American income is 10 times that of the Chinese family. We can afford the RC hobby which is only for the very wealthy in China.Originally posted by Rubicon99 View Post

The reality in China is that a government ban is absolute. It is not the current situation at AliExpress. Another reality is the 145% import tax we will have to pay very, very soon for our hobby purchase.

Another reality: DHL Halts High-Value US Shipments Over Trump Tariffs
DHL is a huge logistic company headquartered in Germany. Most of my RTR tank purchases were delivered by them. I have enough RC tank upgrade project to work on and wait for the tariffs to be cancelled. Trump administration wins for now.

I am importing an order of goods from China for a project. I asked them about tariffs. This was her response.

Based on a provision in Section 321 of the Tariff Act of 1930 that allows importers to bring shipments into the U.S. without paying duties or filing formal entry paperwork, as long as the total daily value of the shipments is below $800. It is also known as the "de minimis exemption," allows goods valued at or below $800 to enter the United States free from tariffs, but this exemption has been modified by the Donald Trump administration, especially for goods from China and Hong Kong, with changes taking effect on May 2, 2025.Originally posted by RichJohnson View PostI am importing an order of goods from China for a project. Hope that your package arrives in time to avoid the 145% tax. What does the shipment tracking say?

It will ship tomorrow according to my factory rep. Should, take a week. Going to be a toss up if it makes it in time. After design and mold fees the actual production cost of my products are not very expensive and a cost ea. and that is what the shipment is declared as a value, so if it goes up %145 it won’t kill me, just reduce my margin a little. This whole process took two months.RC tank parts and accessories I make

Thanks for the update Rich. My Aliexpress order is at the airport and awaiting a plane. For Aliexpress this is the fastest I have every seen it make it to the airport. Either the everyone else stopped ordering for fear of the tariffs ( I admit I am concerned) so my order is being sent because they slowed down or the Chinese are doing their best to beat the deadline. Usually I am sorta peeved at threads where people will post were in the world is their order and give up to date postings to where it is, but with the tariffs this is actually interesting. Will it make it
and I get to cheat the deficit.
