Mostly the increase is TD tanks, but only about 10%. Even then the TD prices on Motion are still the lowest when you consider the free shipping and in most cases no state sales tax. For us out west that is a good savings over Toucans current in store or eBay prices.Originally posted by keilau View PostAt motionrc.com, it seems that the price of many Henglong RC tanks stay the same as before tariffs. But most other brands went up significantly since May 2nd. I noticed that when I checked on the availiability and price of a Tongde spare part.

It may be hard to generalize. The one Tongde part I need went up by 50%. Most RTR tank price rose less than that. It is just a hobby, not the daily necessity.Originally posted by Rubicon99 View PostMostly the increase is TD tanks, but only about 10%. Historically, protective trade policy always failed and harmed the US economics. I can wait for the Republican tariffs to go away or the de minimis exemption to come back. Hopefully before 2028 or another great depression.

You couldn't have said that any better.Originally posted by tank_me View PostI don't care if they make mobile phones uber expensive. Maybe if the phones had less features to be cheaper, people would get off of them and drive while looking at the road instead of me always seeing them looking down.
I drive truck and can't believe how many people are watching things on their phone, talking on it, and even have tablets mounted on the steering wheel, texting and driving has gotten out of hand that's for sure.

It is my own life. I will not be stupid enough to watch iPhone and drive at the same time. The number of such accident reported by highway patrol have decreased a lot in recent years due to public awareness. But, yes, there are still people who does that on the road.Originally posted by DCORSAIR View Post

Just go to HobbyLobby in the craft jewelry section it's like $4.99 and there are about 50 different sizes and types to choose from to best fit your needs.Originally posted by keilau View PostWhile browsing my regular MSN news, a Henglong RC tank parts ad popup. The cost of this metal chain is US$46 with shipping and they sold 8 of them. I wonder if it is made of some precious metal as valuable as gold.

There are real world examples of modern tanks using chains in the field. Merkava tanks use chains. I don't think I've ever seen a tow cable for a Merkava tank. Not sure why they had it configured this way, but I do have actual photos at home in my Abrams reference material of a real M1A2 in the desert with this exact setup:Originally posted by keilau View PostBTW, modern tank use cables, not chain. $5 or $46, it is not for me.
If I had to guess, it was set up that way so that they could quickly unlatch the hitch and use the center loop to pull debris or vehicle out of the way quickly. Tow cable on modern tanks are REALLY heavy and stiff. Soldiers will do what soldiers need to do to get the job done even if it's a little unconventional.

Points well taken. You are much more knowledgeable about tank warfare than I am. I am mocking the Chinese seller of the Abrams tank parts. I apology if I sounded offensive.Originally posted by Rubicon99 View PostMy reply was to cost, not use. You posted about them on an Abrams tank not me.

Finally found and M8 shortly after the announced the tariff amnesty. As an update to my Crusader sage, after exactly 30 days in transit from China it finally showed up in California. I should have it by the end of the week which will be darn close to 45 days since the order was placed.Originally posted by tank_me View PostBeen looking the M8 GMC, but it seems to be sold out.

Good for you! I think the 45 day period is going to be the new normal. That M8 looks good, an apt candidate for IR modification. You gonna go for it?Originally posted by tank_me View Post

I received a Coolbank Crusader and a Scott bundled together today. One took 4 weeks, one only 2. I'm told that since DHL, UPS and Fedex have curtailed shipments from Hong Kong, sellers are waiting to fill a chartered airliner and once full it's sent on its way. Both sellers (different) stated import duties and fees were included in their offered price. Some other sellers didn't say that, so I passed them by regardless of price. I didn't have to pay anything on delivery.
