  • When both my M8 and Crusader arrived there were no additional duties.

    • I buy from Motion and they increased their prices but other than that I have been unaffected by tariffs as far as I can tell. Gas is down, cost of food is about the same, though the standard that some use, eggs, are cheaper. Even the things in my Amazon cart have been going down in price.

Look at your 401K saving plan. I am a retired person with fixed income from social security and IRA distributions. I invest in secure mutual fund of blue chip stock and money market bond. The IRA recovered nicely in 2022-2024 with excellent returns. This year, I lost tons of money when the stock market is hurt by the tax cut extension proposal and the spending tax on average American in the form of tariffs. Many economist expect a recession later this year if Donal Trump does not stop his trade war.

Buy your tank when we are still in the 90 days tariff holiday. Trickle down theory which is the basis for tax cut for the rich never work in the last 100 years. In developed economics such as America, we want people in high paying white collar jobs. We export blue collar manufacturing job to take advantage of the lower labor cost in developing countries. Trying to bring steel, automobile etc back is going in the wrong direction. We want manufacturing only in the high end product such as aircraft.

        • I am both retired military and civil sector and my retirement accounts have done okay, up 4% since January, I know not great. Had a dip in March but recovered to better than before the dip. My accounts had a horrible loss from Jan to Oct 22 and didn't recover losses until about Oct/ Nov 24. I won't politicize it or this thread.

Either way, as I said I haven't felt the effects of the tariffs.

          • I am looking for more 2.5" speaker enclosure like this from DKLM RC. I use speaker with a larger magnet than the VISATON FRS7S speaker. DKLM still refuses to ship to US dispict the 90 days tariff holiday. Anyone know where I can finish a similar enclosure?
3D Print Speaker unit with VISATON FRS7S speaker # Custom speaker box size avaliable! Contact us for Details # New design speaker box with nice sound speaker from Germany! We choose to use VISATON Full Range System speaker (FRS7S). The bass from the speaker is far better than regular FRS7. You will not just heard loudly tank sounds mixed together! Speaker Unit show as pic. Dimension : approx. 8x9x3.7 (cm) Pre-assemblied and soldered with regular HX2.54 plug that fit most tank board on the market. We print in different colors, speaker box ship with random colors.

              • Have you tried Temu? They may have the same product or something very similar. I get almost anything and everything from Temu for the past year. Prices are far cheaper than anything I might see on Amazon. In fact, one item I bought for Temu was 1/3 the price at Amazon and it was AMAZON who delivered it. Weird!
(Not advertising for Temu, just showing you an option that has been reliable and honest.)

                • Kenny at DAKRC.com had them in the past that is where I got them.
DKlM has to use HK post and that shipper won’t post to US right now.

Thank you for your good reminder. Yes, they have the enclosure and speaker systems on their catalogue, but everything are out of stock!

I have not visit the Clark sites for a long time since I gave up on upgrading to quality radio using the Clark boards. It is still a joy to visit the Clark site.

I found a very old (2015) thread at RCU. It suggested using regular plastic project box. It is just a matter of finding the right size that will fit inside the HL tank.

I have purchased from Temu a few times. Yes, the price is good, but their search engine is a joke. I paid more at Amazon if I need to search for an item. I also pay for the protection of Amazon's customer service.

                      • US is a developed country where its people want high paying white collar job, blue collar factory job pay less and US want to have developing country to do the blue collar work where factory job is considered high paying. US want to keep the design and develpment work in the US.

I was in the aerospace industry for many years and do not want the US to move backward like the current adminstration want. There are a few high paying blue collar jobs such as airplane manufacturing. Those are the type of blue collar job we want to keep.

US has as much rare earth deposit as China. But mining rare earth is environmentally dirty and dangerous so US export the work to China.

Trump wants more factory jobs in the US. But is there anyone to hire?

With all respect. Unfortunately your thinking is outdated as the white collar jobs are also fast becoming extinct thanks to the AI revolution we are fast entering. With 330,000,000+ people in the US there are nowhere near or has there ever been enough white collar high paying jobs for everyone. This is data supported by the alarming trend of college educated young people working at Amazon packing cheap Chinese made products, or working at Starbucks and thinking it's a career job because there are to few good paying white collar jobs. Even in engineering, your field of work is becoming hard to find or stable employment do to short contract lengths.

America needs blue collar jobs more than white collar jobs and a strong manufacturing base to compete in a world market.

We are a consumer economy and thats ok if everyone has a decent paying job with disposable income to spend on consumer goods. But if you are fighting to just pay your rent and eat regularly you aren't buying and if you aren't buying the consumer economy does not work. The past administration' solution was to had out money the current administration is to try and bring back work to the US. I guess the Capitalist in me likes the current approach more.

Like you I am retired but I have a young son with a marketable and useful degree. He like his pears are all having a substantially harder time finding that white collar job they have a degree for. Meanwhile they are all looking for something else. It might just need to be one of those blue collar jobs that the current administration is trying to bring back.

                                • Try to find an 1/16 Tongde RC Tank H2408 Leclerc Battle Tank, or any other newly release tank model for under $400. A challenge for those who believe tariffs does not have any impact on our hobby.

For older US stock, the 1/16 scale tank price is holding up for now. But sellers have no US stock for parts, the spare and upgrade parts price already sky rocket.

That is an excellent price. Can you share a link? I hope that it is an established seller.

Let us know how you like the tank when you receive it. For US$264 shipped, it should be shipped in the US. The slowest UPS ground should be there in less than 10 days.
