I have finished converting the 1/16 scale Gecko Panzer II to RC. I also installed the IR battle set of LegoDEI receiver and emitter. It is still a plastic model and the track links are quite weak. I plan to play it indoor only, therefore, I did not weather it the same way like those outdoor tanks. I had the IR emitter inside the turret initially. However, it was quite small in there. I had to move it outside on top of the turret. I like my tank anyway. .

Great job, David. Wouldn't it have been wonderful if a manufacturer had made one for us. Did you use 35CTANK's kit, or something else? I'd love to see the interior. I motorized the Panzer 1 models, and I found that the weak link was the original track pins. They just weren't made for extended runs. And you can't substitute metal pins, because then the links themselves fail.
Get some outdoor photos ASAP. Maybe next to your other DAK tanks! The more screws it takes to reassemble a tank, the more likely it is you left something out!

I did not want to spend $250 for that 35RC kit. I bought the 1/30 HL Pershing for $40 and worked my way toward my goal, heheh! I will get some pictures next week. Rain is coming to SoCal this week.Originally posted by SoCalBobS View PostGreat job, David. Wouldn't it have been wonderful if a manufacturer had made one for us.
