  • Tongde M109A2 Howitzer

I just bought myself the TONGDE M109A2 for early Christmas from MOTION RC I got the plastic version, I know I shouldn't expect perfection, (I have plastic & metal Heng Long tanks with no issues) But 2 problems within an hour of unboxing. No Smoke at all and very slight tank recoil. After about 8-9 times firing the cannon, no recoil at all. I did my 5-minute test, the tank worked fine, stop go turn sound, no smoke yet. So, I started putting on all the small parts. Looking good I was tickled. Long story short, i fixed the smoke, the "cotton" had a burnt spot where the heating element was making contact, I just fluffed it out a little bit works fine now. Recoil??? I noticed when the turret moved and the barrel elevated it began to "struggle " a little bit. I didn't see any obstructions anywhere connections were tight. Factory reset didn't help. I like my new toy, maybe it something simple. any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated. THANKS

I haven't dared open my turret, but I'm guessing there's a lot of stress on whatever motorizes the elevation. Maybe it's a servo and a linkage? But yeah it's a cool model. We ran a "lob test" to see how far the pellets would travel from a 45 degree angle. We got an honest 35 feet. It's the only AV I keep the bb capacity in, which I use to answer the inevitable "can it shoot" questions.

The more screws it takes to reassemble a tank, the more likely it is you left something out!

Hey buddy thanks for the advice. Nice pics too
If I get mine together and working, I let you know. Right now I have been in contact with Motion RC and they want a few videos for warranty I guess

How much room is available for 3500mah admiral battery and where is battery located in M109?

Steve, be sure to post pics when it's done,

Robert; lots of room, it's accessed by opening the rear door. Drop the anchors and the door can be opened. It's a convenient setup for a change.
