  • What did you do with the HL 7.1 upgrade

If you upgraded to the henglong 7.1 controller, what did you do with it? Did you find it worth doing?

Spend more money on a servo barrel unit and servo elevation unit. It worths every penny because it is your hobby for fun. If you do not plan to implement the servo function, the HL TK70 is a much better deal.

Only reason you really want to do it is if you need servo connections for external electronic speed controllers (ESC) or the other servo functions which if you get the 7.1 transmitter adds an extra control slider. The extra slider can be used for a bunch of things like controlling a motor via ESC or servo.

If you don't need any of that stuff or know what I'm talking about then it won't give you anything you don't already have.

The most common need for a 7.1 controller is for servo operated gun elevation, the second is for servo operated main gun recoil. Many new tanks from Tongde, Coolbank, Mato and others use servo elevation and recoil, so if you plan to convert them to Heng Long electronics, you'll need the 7.1 board. As Tank-Me states, if you don't use those functions, 7.0 is fine. Other than the extra functions, they are interchangeable - &.0 transmitters can operate both 7.0 and 7.1 boards, and vice versa.
The more screws it takes to reassemble a tank, the more likely it is you left something out!

By "7.1 controller" do you mean the board or as Heng Long calls it an MFU inside the tank?

The 7.1 board provides what everyone has already mentioned.

The "7.1 Controller" in your hands with the joysticks and buttons provides the ability to control the extra options that tankme mentions.

BUT, the standard Heng Long TK7.0 controller or TX can control the Servo cannon barrel recoil and elevation. It doesn't have the slider control as tankme mentions for controlling added features of the 7.1 board.

I use the TK7.1 board/MFU with the TK7.0 controller to do this-
