  • Tiger Track Tensioner

Edit-Disregard all the stuff I previously said. I figured out and fixed the issue myself. However, the right idler wheel now has too much play. You can grab it and move it in and out like the screw won't thread in the whole way.

Recently tried to adjust the tension on my HL Tiger. Loosened the screw and tried to rotate. The tensioner is loose but I can't get it to rotate in either direction. So I then decided to just forget it, but now the screw won't grab/tighten. This is a brand new tank. What am I doing wrong?

    Quick answer for you.

The Idler adjuster works with teeth that mesh between the outside metal part and the hull mounting point.

On the inside of the tank against the hull side wall is a bolt that holds the idler adjuster screw in.

What you did was back the screw too far out and lost the bolt on the inside.
I'll bet if you shake the tank vigorously up and down you'll hear something rattling around inside. But you may not, it might be hung up on something...

What you need to do now it to remove the top hull from the bottom hull, fish out the lost bolt from the bottom of the inside of the tank and replace it on the inside of the hull side wall then reset the idler adjustment on the outside and replace the screw and set to whatever tension you desire.

A bit of work but also a perfect primer for getting used to your new tank and how to remedy small issues. Maintenance and repairs are often required in the RC hobby world.

heres a quick video of how to disasseble the upper from the lower so you can fish out and reset that screw-

Thank you. Thankfully the bolt was still attached to the screw, it just wasn't grabbing onto the little clip that holds it in place. I believe I have most of my issues worked out. Unfortunately I broke off both smoke launchers turning it every which way. Good thing parts are readily available!

Good I'm glad it's working out.

What smoke launchers the ones on the side of the turret? I have too many spares if you are in the states and want me to send them to you?

Yea both sides on the turret. Would you also happen to have an extra side mounted tow rope? Somehow mine cracked apart. If not I'll just glue it. Thanks

No extra track cable sorry. I cracked one of mine too and just haven't fixed it yet.

As luck would have it I recently organized my Tiger parts box and I've got these.

Message me your information and I'll mail the smoke dischargers.
