  • Any Tankers Near Southern Illinois?

New at tanks or will say beginning again after so many years i'm not gonna say. Have been into scale planes for 30 years. Starting over with 4 new tanks 2 of which are still on the way. Will probably do weathering before i run them at all. RD

Thank you! Way down south by Marion Il. I now have a king tiger, tiger 1, sherman and waiting on a panzer3 to get here. Just painting some figures so far. Just took everything out of the box last night.I will weather and detail all of them I think. Will post some pics when I make some progress. Thanks for the reply!

RC tanks are a small hobbyist group so you have to be willing to drive an 1.5 or more hours one way to have a "get tougher" or battle. Even here in California where there are three clubs we have to drive a considerable distance. Heck many of us will even drive out to the PHX area in AZ. 5-6 hours away to participate at the DAK club events.

            Pilot RD,
I have a HL Tiger1 and live 30 miles east of Danville Il. on Int. 74. Indy is about 35 m east of me and the only Hobby shop in Indy (Hobbytown) they sell tanks and military vehicles but haven't found any tank activity in the area. Was hoping for more tankers but find myself alone at home or at our flying field shooting at planes. LOL We are a lonely group. Post your progress with yours.
            Best Regards, Rex

                  Pilot RD,
Like minds think alike. I'm a Scale R/C flyer also. I will weather my Tiger 1 in a winter camo just haven't taken the time. Would like to get the HL Sherman as my Uncle was at Bastone and told stories how cold and bad it was. Check out my mods in the airplane and jets cat.
                  Best Regards, Rex

Here ya go. OS 108. All markings are paint. started building it 25 yrs ago. First flew in 2018 i think. Still looks just like this. Hope its ok to post this on here for you Rex. Hope to eventually be making my own stencils for my german tanks and painting all the markings on them too.
