  • Heng Long King Tiger

I have a new King Tiger and the main barrel wont go all the way down. It does raise but acts like its loose inside. It will move up and down a freely by hand. Where do I need to start? Thanks

Sharing a video to show what you're explaining will help with a diagnosis.

Also where did you get the tank from?

In the turret there is the barrel firing/ elevation part in white plastic. The elevation part has a pin off the side that fits into a groove on the firing part. Sounds like yours is not in that groove (not sure if the groove in the picture is the correct side).

On some of my big tanks, I had to add a screw at the arm to ensure it stayed in the groove.

You may consider removing the rest of the fenders before you start painting.

Meaning the mounting blocks that are left? I had to make the filler panels from the fenders i cut off so thats why it has the little blocks left on. They can be sanded off then the correct mounting blocks put on before paint if thats what you mean. I got to the stage im at and stopped for now. The sides need blocked again anyway.

Ahh ok so you did remove where they flare out and form the gap between upper and lower hull and you filled it with styrene? Good work. Sorry the pics aren't quite clear for me to catch that the first time.

Yes i didnt have any styrene on hand thick enough so i used part of the fenders i cut off. The way its molded you have a pretty good piece to fill back in the whole length of the hull. I really like the way these look. Click image for larger version

I just saw on Amazon Prime there's a new movie about a tank. Just dropped, haven't seen it yet. Called "The Tank"

Fury was a good movie too. Been on my rewatch list but so much new content is dumped everyday.

And I have a Sherman too but its just a standard M4A1 But I'd love to have a Fury Sherman someday. My main interest is German tanks and warbirds.

My Heng Long Sherman shoots BB's unusually far. must be the short barrel. I measured 180 feet if I park the tank on an incline!
