Hello all, I think I’m on my seventh professional edition heng long tank from motion RC , this latest, one being the professional edition Sherman. as soon as I opened up the box a few days ago I took off the metal idler , treads and sprockets to paint them. As I hand tightened the idler’s back onto the integrated plastic idler hubs to my horror, they disintegrated and fell apart Rendering it useless as is. I contacted motion and they said it’s a known design flaw and recommended I buy a metal lower chassis. This is probably what I’ll end up doing (which is a bit pricey), but I have also seeing people are cutting off the existing plastic idler hub and replacing it with mato Metal idler hub/ tensioner. wondering if anyone has done this upgrade? And if so, any tips on how you shaved down the existing plastic hub in order to prepare it for the metal upgrade? It’s kind of tight quarters in there.
thanks in advance if anyone has any tips, tricks, or recommendations
