Heng Long Panzer III detracking issue

I'm gonna end up doing the same for this little kid's abrams that's in our group. That thing's been nothing but problems.

The old mato lever arms are too short now for heng long‘s newer chassis. Even the way is bolts on is different

Just from my personal experience with my el cheapo plastic HL Panzer III. When I first got it from Matomart Canada it was a mess. Was supposed to be a 7.0 but came with 6.0, had obviously been run and returned, as one of the gearbox covers was missing and the other was attached with tape but since it was going to be completely modified I just kept it. When I first ran it around the field it detracked constantly and the links would be separating from the stress of turning. I tightened the tracks up and there was definitely an improvement. Then I gave it to Big Mike in our club (Jarlath of JCC) to completely modify it with a Clark board and new recoil, elevation etc. He produced what has to be as stiff if not more a lower hull as you would get on any Taigen or Tamiya. There is basically no flex. Since then it has never detracked even in battles on our field which are a total torture test for any tank. Although it is still running the original base plastic HL sprocket, idler, suspension arms, springs and plastic wheels it runs flawlessly. I just wonder if hull flex is causing a lot of these problems some of you are having? Granted I wanted the smoker removed as I never use them so that might limit the options for those that like them. Here is a picture of what he did to the lower hull. Poured epoxy on the hull floor as well

So he cut out the battery box and poured epoxy into it? Any stiffeners? The hull walls look stock.

Walls are stock but the printed speaker box is epoxied to the wall and rear plate. Battery is affixed to the wall and snug against the printed Clark board base. Those walls do not move. It's a very light tank. There was no need to put the usual aluminum plate on the floor say of a heavier tank or metal tracks with stronger gearboxes
